When using the existing gutters each installation includes proper slope alignment, seam and corner sealing, tightening to the facia board, and of course cleaning the gutters and downspouts. The Science Behind Gutter Topper
The key to Gutter Topper’s amazing ability to handle water and repel leaves and debris is found in the science of its patented gutter cover design.
Water clings to the surface on which it travels. This "surface tension" causes the water to cling to Gutter Topper’s rounded "nose." The water literally follows the curve of the nose and is deposited in the slots at the bottom of the system. (Your Gutter Topper retailer will be glad to demonstrate this on a section of Gutter Topper using water from the faucet in your sink. You almost have to see it to believe it.
Leaves and debris, on the other hand, won't follow the curve. They’ll shed from Gutter Topper’s smooth surface and slide harmlessly to the ground.

Certified to resist winds of up to 110 mph (met Florida's Miami-Dade County standards, some of the strictest in the U.S.) This is the equivalent of a Category-2 hurricane. Certified to handle downpours of up to 22" per hour / 528" per day. The record one-day rainfall is 43 inches recorded in Alvin, Texas on July 25, 1979.*
